The range is visually led by the play between a respect for tradition and craftsmanship and the ultra-modern and advanced technologies that characterises all of Alexander McQueen's work.
The use of materials is typically rich and varied.
Fern green, black and tortoiseshell acetate as well as two specially commissioned finishes - one which echoes bone and the other the opalescent qualities of mother of pearl.
The most hi-tech frame in the range is crafted in lightweight titanium.
At the other end of the spectrum, the Alexander McQueen eyewear range introduces a frame crafted in natural wood.
The designs themselves are equally diverse from large, wraparound acetate frames to more discrete metal or metal and acetate mix models.
In more than a few instances, the metal frames rise up from curved acetate and metal mix arms.
This unique feature is exclusive to the range and juxtaposes a highly distinctive, voluptuous and organic look with perfectly balanced and functional design.
Lenses appear in single, muted shades or graded.
The eyewear is subtly branded with either the McQueen logo or the words Alexander McQueen stamped on both arms.
Each design comes packaged in an individual Alexander McQueen grey PVC case.
The inside of the case is lined in grey and printed with a photograph of the designer's eyes.
Alexander McQueen sunglasses are available at Styledrops since 2007.
The Alexander McQueen collection is manufactured in Italy by Safilo.
